Perfect for every occasion - from running errands to evenings out, this plain Mamian 马面 skirt from the Ming Dynasty is a versatile and easy piece to style. 

The Mamian 马面 (horse face skirt) reached peak popularity in the Ming Dynasty and features a large front and back panel & trapezoidal side pleats, creating a natural A-line shape without the need for a petticoat! 

This modernized version of the skirt comes with a zipper waist + attached ribbon belt. Simply zip it up and tie the ribbon, no need for the hassle of traditional ties! 

One of the most popular hanfu garments and can be paired with any top, modern or traditional. 

 

Note: this is a modernized skirt so the fabric is slightly thinner than typical mamian brocade fabric.
