Au cours des dynasties antérieures, avant l’avènement des éventails circulaires, ces éventails en forme de drapeau étaient couramment utilisés par les hommes et les femmes de toutes classes. Le look ressemblait à celui d'un grand couteau de boucher, d'où le nom - Dao Shan 刀扇 "éventail de couteaux".

Également connu sous le nom de Hu Shan 户扇, en raison de sa forme similaire à celle du personnage Hu 户.

Conçu pour être tourné doucement dans la main pour obtenir une brise agréable tout en minimisant les mouvements excessifs. Choisissez parmi un manche plus court ou plus long, l'une ou l'autre longueur est l'accessoire parfait pour toute époque pré-Dynastie Tang.
